TOURNAMENTS

This was the 1St year for this group of players.They had a great season which is still continuing. The first tournament they played in was the Glen Cove Mayors Trophy. They went 5-1 in the tournament taking the 2ND seed in the playoffs. They won their first playoff game 11-3 against a tough Middle Village Lady Dragons team.Next up was a real tough Seacliff Team in the title game.The score was tied at 2-2 going into the top 6 inning before giving up 3 runs in that inning and could not get anything back in the bottom half of that inning. The Fillies took 2ND Place in the tournament.Finishing the the tournament with a 6-2 record.

Next up was The East Meadow Summer Sizzle Tournament the girls really took off in this tournament.The competition was tough here but by going 7-0 in the tournament they secured the 1St seed in the playoffs. First up in the playoffs was a tough Merrick Blue Fire team were they squeaked out a a 3-2 win in extra innings on a international tie breaker.Rachel Travis scored from second base on a ground ball by Laura Tynan for the win.Next up the Seaford Lady Vikings Williamsport runner-up in the Long Island Championship game. They were tough but again the Fillies won by a score of 3-1. Off to the championship game were the faced off against East Meadow's 10U Williamposrt team and they were tough. Unfortunately they did not get past East Meadow Williamport team the score was 8-0. Again another 2ND Place finish. They finished the tournament with a 9-1 record. We are currently in the North Bellmore/North Merrick Fall tournament and again enjoying a lot of success. The coaching staff is very proud of how this girls have preformed this travel season.
